unique file name/ID?

To all the experts out there:

I have a quick question regarding templating.

When generating an output file (for example, a HTML or a XML file), we can give a new name or overwrite the existing or predefined file name. Can I generate an output file which contains an unique file name or ID automatically without type in the file name or overwrite the existing one?

RTFM FormAPI Developer's Guide - though it depends on what version of TS you are using (6.5 [SP2?] and above - yes, earlier versions I don't believe so)
