Calling CGI/Perl script from DCT

Two very basic questions:

Is there a way of calling a CGI or a Perl script from a DCT?
Does the perl script being called from a DCT havwe to be a CGI?

Also, another question closely connected to this:

Is there a way of autogenerating output pages when the user saves the DCT?

1. Yes, callout is the way. You can get details in manuals.
2. Cgi-Callout you can use to call a CGI script, again you will find details in manuals.
3. Yes, you can do this as well. details about this again in the manuals.

Yes, Depends upon your requirements and logic. You have to capture the values of the DCR and generate the output file based on the same. Better way to do is to use CallServer on event of onSaveDone.
