Opendeploy Listener: Multiple IP address

Env: Opendeploy rcvr 6.0.2 sp1, Solaris, Clustered environment, behind firewall

Hi All,

Our destination machine has two IP address, physical address and virtual ip address. I installed opendeploy and it is running on

cbu072w009: netstat -an | grep 60012
172.16.62.169.60012 *.* 0 0 8040 0 LISTEN

We want OD to run on another IP for example 10.24.169.54. Is there any way to configure OD to run on a particular IP address or it will always bind to the physical address of the machine?

Have you tried setting the localNode in the odbase.xml (or odrdcvr.xml) with an IP address instead of a hostname - and then restarting the server?

As fish said, you can specify the specific IP instead of hostname.

This probably doesn't apply to you ... but if you have a host with multiple network interfaces, you can run multiple instances of the OD receiver. Each receiver can listen on a different IP. This is the "multiple instance" feature described in the admin guide.

Thanks Fish/Mariam for your replies but this doesnt apply in our case.

Reason is we need to transfer content across firewall and firewall is set to accept the content at 10 series IP. But OD service is running on 172* IP. If I can run my receiver on 172* series then I believe it may solve the problem.

After going mucking through installation guide i found something on page 74

Specifying the RMI Server Host Name or Binding IP Address
The Deploy.rmiServerBind attribute allows you to specify a particular host name or IP
address that OpenDeploy should use in setting up its RMI services:
Deploy.rmiServerBind: mars or
Deploy.rmiServerBind: 10.234.567.890

I think rmiServerBind is the listener address on rcvr side and if I specify the IP address here then it should work but I need to try this still.

I can't read out of your post, if you tried to change the localNode host attribute as Fish and Mariam said before.
We were also in the same situation: Multiple IP addresses behind a (AIX) receiver. Changing the localNode host attribute
in the odrcvr.xml configures OD to listen on a different IP address, perhaps you check this...

I am able to change the IP address for Opendeploy.

altough problem is not completely resolved because of bugging firewall routings but OD side sounds fine to me at the moment.
