Teamsite Search 2.0 not working

Hi

I installed Teamsite search 2.0 on my teamsite server which runs Teamsite 6.7 in windows environment. I configured the search.properties file, fieldmapping.xml and search.private file too. Whenever I click the search button I get the error - "com.interwoven.cssdk.common.CSException: The search manager is unable to contact the index manager.()"

Any idea why am I getting error?

you need 3 services running, event subsystem, tsindex and tssearch

are they all running ?

Out of 3 services only teamsite search is up an running while the other two are not running and they have the start up type as Automatic.

If the eventsubsystem fails, then index will not work

So you need to dig in & see why it is failing. There are logs.

What DB is configured for the event subsystem ?

I have an entry as the following in jmsconfignew.xml file

TcpConfiguration port="_PORT_" jndiPort="_JNDIPORT_"

Not sure what shud be the value for TcpConfiguration port="_PORT_" and i think jndiport = 3035

Would really appreciate if you can attach a sample working copy of jmsconfignew.xml file.

Please paste the logs for the indexServer as it has stopped due to some errror.

If the error is due to the event Subsystem check the EventSubsystem logs.
The event subsytem is used to convey the updation of the asset to the Search(indexer in particular). U can disbale this dependency by switching off the events updates in the search.properties.

Also have you manaully pointed to the search installation machine in the cssdk.cfg file in teamSite to tell teamSite where the search has been installed ?

Have u altered any values (mainly for the ports) while installing the search ?

What chages did u made to the search.private.properties. Ideally all user configuration should go into search.properties.

This has probably been resolved, but I thought I'd add a comment to save someone else a headache. We recently resolved this for our install using 3035 as the jndiport and _PORT_ can be set to any free port as this seems to be the definition of the port. We set it to 3030 like I found in a knowledge base article, so it may not be arbitrary.
