'Search and Replace' on binary files

Hi ,

Using TS 6.5 Sol 5.8.

We have a requirement in which we have to do 'Search & Replace' on binary files ( like word etc ).

I know we have TeamSite search for searching through the documents. But has anyone encountered any requirment in which we have to even replace the content of binary files.

Any pointer or help or reference is apprecitaed...

You can't do replace in the out-of-the-box TS. You have write your own script which will parse through the binary documents and then replace them. Like have a custom UI(CGI) and then do a search and replace.
