Using the IMANEXT2Lib.IManBrowseCmd

System

I am using the IMANEXT2Lib.IManBrowseCmd to display the worksite folders for the user to select from, but I want to set the initially selected folder to a specific folder. I know the folder ID. Is there a way of passing this to the command before it is displayed?

initialise the IManBrowseCmd object with the "IManExt2.DefaultLocation" context item. You need to pass it the full path to the folder's object ID, not just the object ID itself

Hi,

I am having the same problem. I tried to pass ObjectId into IManExt2.DefaultLocation but it doesn't work. What value should I put for this context item to set the initial location?

thank's

The short answer is: it depends

You need to supply the full path to the object ID. This can be constructed in a variety of ways, but for example if you would like to build a path to a document folder which has an object ID of

!nrtdms:0:!session:MYSERVERNAME:!database:MYDATABASENAME:!folderrdinary,2:

and which is a child of a Workspace which has an object ID of

!nrtdms:0:!session:MYSERVERNAME:!database:MYDATABASENAME:!page:1:

you may construct a path by separating the object IDs with a backslash character ("\") like so:

\!nrtdms:0:!session:MYSERVERNAME:!WorkArea:!RecentPages:\!nrtdms:0:!session:MYSERVERNAME:!database:MYDATABASENAME:!page:1:\!nrtdms:0:!session:MYSERVERNAME:!database:MYDATABASENAME:!folderrdinary,2:

Note that there are many other ways to build a path to the object (you don't need to use the RecentPages identifier, for example).

Thank's a lot for your reply guido,

I try to concatenate the path starting from the workspace to the folder I want to locate for default location but I still couldn't get it working.

This is the path looks like:
\!nrtdms:0:session:TSYDVMAS07:!database:Worksite_LEGAL:!page:16:\!nrtdms:0:session:TSYDVMAS07:!database:Worksite_LEGAL:!foldeR Smiley Surprised

rdinary,23:

These are the context items I use:
context.Add("NRTDMS", dms);
context.Add("SelectedNRTSessions", sessions.ToArray());
context.Add("ParentWindow", parentHandle);
context.Add("IManExt2.BrowseCmd.SelectableObjectTypes", selectable);
context.Add("IManExt2.MultiFileSelection", false);

if (defaultLocation != null)
{
// Where the path is
string fullPath = ConstructFullPath(defaultLocation);
context.Add("IManExt2.DefaultLocation", fullPath);
}

Can you see if there's anything I did wrong or miss? Thank's again for your reply.

Yes, your DefaultLocation path is still wrong because the root element is just a Workspace.

As per my original example, prepend the path you already with the ObjectID property of the RecentWorkspaces work area. You may access this object ID like so:

session.WorkArea.RecentWorkspaces.ObjectID

where session is a valid IManSession instance.

Your full path will look something like this:

\!nrtdms:0:!session:TSYDVMAS07:!WorkArea:!RecentPages:\!nrtdms:0:session:TSYDVMAS07:!database:Worksite_LEGAL:!page:16:\!nrtdms:0:session:TSYDVMAS07:database:Worksite_LEGAL:!folderrdinary,23:
