event subsystem is down

event subsystem is down and we try to restart it but it doesnt come up.. we are on TS 5.5.2 SP5.

do i need to restart other service to get the event subsytem running again?

What DB are you using ? Any disk issues ?

If you are using the openJMS DB then the file may have grown too large.

to answer nippers:
this machine is nto linked to any DB...no no disk issues, we have 27GB empty, this is how to story started this morning:
every morning i check the log files just in case of anything is about to happen.. so on the box that has teamsite and OD base, i went to the OD log directory, and ididnt see any log files for the deployment jobs.only server_odbase, and server_eventreportng... and that s where i checked the rcvr, and found out that the rcvr.deployment_from_ts/od_box.log grew from 3MB to 261MB... but no deployment failed.
and the performance of the box that has ts and od was so slow, the process of iw were taking too much 33%.
but after we rebooted i can see now in the log directory all the deployment jobs logs...

and the team who is using this box only uses teamsite to edit the html files and use opendepoy to deploy to another OD box that deploys to live. so they dont use any data deploy, and they are not aware of any DB event issues. and i am new here so i dont know deep details.

but i checked openjms and it s like 6MB...
so not sure what would make the deployment job files disapear and show up after rebooting the server.
