Submit Locked files Created by another user.

Hi ,
I am using Teamsite 6.5

I want to clarify certain issues regarding the Locked files.

Actually a Generated file and the DCR is locked by the author "A"

If Author "B" comes and Submit the File created by author "A" i am getting an error message "Nothing that you have selected can be submitted. Please reselect modified or non-private files."

If Editor "A" comes and Submit the File created by author "A", i can submit to staging and production.

If Webmaster "A" comes and Submit the File created by author "A", i can submit to staging and production.

Why the Interwoven System behaves differently only for Author in this way.Is there anything going wrong in the system.Actually my requirement is,a locked file cannot be submiited by others.How to achieve it.

This is how Interwoven Content Management Access Rights and Permission was designed.

If you need to grant or revoke the access on any particular files or folders ... do that on Operating System (not mentioned) level only.

1) your example is very confusing. Is Author "A" the same user as Editor "A" (same user, different login role?), or simply 2 different users altoghether.

2) Users having only author role can't submit anyway, though they can kick off a submit workflow I guess. That is less "visible" now that "Submit direct" functionality is removed from GUI since TS v6.

3) your requirement should be partly fulfilled by the iw.cfg option only_lock_owner_creator_submits=yes, although I *guess* it won't stop a master role user from submitting. Read the admin manual and experiment. Then tell us your findings (that is, do something back for the community Smiley Wink
