Teamsite Branch access issue | Critical
chicka
Hi,
I am using TS 6.1 running in Windows. We use ADS for TS userids as well as groups.
Currently the issue we are facing with Branch and workarea access. Initially when creating the branch we have given access to one particular group say Group1.
After this, we navigated to the Y: drive and to the branch which was recently created. By selecting the properties, I have changed the permission to Everyone, which was done by mistake.
I realized my mistake and immediately I removed Everyone access from the branch. From now the probelm has arised. I have given iwreset -a and even restarted TS services.
After from contentCentre, if I login with a userid who is not a tagged to Group1, he is able to access the newly created branch. He is haveing full access control.
I have cross checked from OS level but couldn't find any breaks thru..
I have also given proper value for webserver_group in iw.cfg and also set workarea_security as well branch_security values to 'on'.
Request you to shed light on this.
Do I need to reboot my TS server as well as ADS to make the chages reflected??
Regards,
Varun.K

The problem with windows security is that it has a feature called inheritance and this mat be causing your issue.
I would suggest that you go to the lowest branch and remove this option, by going into the permissions and then into advanced. Just copy the current permission and then remove the ones you do not require.
I would first change the permissions on all the files in the selected branch WORKAREA and then on the branch. If you have large volumes of data this can take a long time to fix. Windows IO/permission performance with TeamSite is much lower than on UNIX. Hence with clients with large volumes of data I recommend UNIX.
Also are you using Local groups to map to ADS groups?

Hi,
Thanks for your reply. But it didn't work out.
We have used ADS for maintaining local users as well as for groups that have been used in TS.
Waiting for your reply.
