Javascript Location

Hi, I am using a javascript called validations.js which would be used across all my templates. I had put this js file in iw-home/local/config/x folder, but the file is not being called and validations donot take place. I tried giving full absolute path too in my datacpture.cfg and still it is not working. [html]<script language="javascript" location="webserver" src="C:TeamSite/iw-home/local/config/validations.js"/>[/html] Is there any setting which I am missing? Also explain me the relative path which can be used. Thanks, Maddy

I forgot to mention the location command I used in datacapture.cfg [html]<script language="javascript" location="webserver" src="C:TeamSiteiw-homelocalconfigxvalidations.js">[/html]

Can you please provide your DCT as an attachment? May be you are doing something wrong within syntax for calling the js.

You have to keep inside iw-home/httpd/iw folder and that should be referenced inside DCT like [html]<script language="javascript" location="webserver" src="/iw/test.js"/>[/html]

You need to make sure that the js file is ACCESSIBLE via the webserver. For instance, you could put it at IWHOME/httpd/iw/MY_PROJECT/validations.js and use
< script language="javascript" location="webserver" src="/iw/MY_PROJECT/validations.js" />

Or you could put the js file in the same folder as the DCT and then use relative path.

This is all in the formAPI manual...

BTW, you should clearly document and backup what you add in the IWHOME/httpd/iw directory, because it will/may be wiped out on a Teamsite reinstall/upgrade.

If you want to use the js from the disk, you should use

location="template-type"

not webserver.
