Launchpad no longer works in 6.7.1 after upgrade from 6.1

We have moved from TeamSite 6.1 SP2 on Solaris 9 to 6.7.1 on Linux. After the installation, if a client pc attempts to edit a file, the launchpad applet does not work properly. No settings are recorded, or are transferred from the old 6.1 setup. For the time being, both systems will still need to be accessed, so I need the applet to work for both.

Is there some sort of trick or guidance missed in the manuals, or is this a known bug?

Please try using java console and capture the exact error. Basically you will get the exact location where it fails.

Has anything changed since TS 6.1? Proxy? authentication?

Java console output and webd access/error logs may be useful to get a better picture.

Actually it doesn't work on 6.1 or 6.7.1 now. I have tried with IE and Firefox, same result.

1.3.1 ? How old is that one ? I am using 1.5 which I downloaded from Sun (my funky new Sony Vaio did not include Java). At least it did not include IE 7. Smiley Very Happy

1.3 is the JVM that TeamSite 6.1 runs on. From this developer machine we do Java external task and servlet/JSP development against TeamSite. So, it seems that having the 1.3 (for 6.1) and 1.5 (for 6.7.1) on the same machine has caused the issue.

So, I uninstalled the 1.3 JRE (removing that plugin), rebooted and now things work fine in Firefox. However, IE still doesn't work. If I attempt to do anything that causes the launchpad to load, it continually prompts me for the path to put the temp files and ignores any settings I attempt to make.

If I select tools --> sun java console in IE nothing happens, so hard to figure out what is going on.

Any ideas?

Last week, i had similar issue with JSP. All of the JSP (resides in webapps) stoped working. I upgraded JVM running on the Dev box and somehow it started working.

It seems the issue with incompatible Java with 6.7.1. If you still running with same issue, Contact IWOV support and open the case.
