OD 6.1 unknown group error on receiver

Another issue from migration. When we reference a unix group that doesn't exist, this is the issue reported in the base server (source) log:

This is in the receiver log:

LIB: 2006-11-30 14:08:41 ERROR: Failed deploying filelist[0]
LIB: 2006-11-30 14:08:41 ERROR: Failed 1 of 1 filelists


I will file a support case for this one too. Not sure why those funky characters are getting inserted....
