OD 6.x - are uid files still used?
Adam Stoller
I searched the various OD manuals and the last one that seems to have any reference to the od-admin.uid and od-user.uid files is for OpenDeploy 5.6.
I'm working on an upgrade to OpenDeploy 6.1 and wondering whether these files are still used, and if not, whether there is some other file (perhaps within ODHOME instead of IWHOME) that takes its place, or whether it is all managed internally (some DB) by the Admin Server or CSF?
I know we added one of the users to the new server via the OpenDeploy Admin GUI yesterday and their userid does not show up in either the od-admin.uid nor od-user.uid files - so they appear to be unused now (but I'd like a confirmation). However, I grepped through all the files under the OpenDeployNG, AdminServer, and CSF directories looking for references to this userid, and it only shows up in log files - not in any other sort of file that one might call a configuration file - so I'd like to get some comfirmation / better understanding of how this information is stored.
Note: This is on Solaris 10 and they are using PAM authentication (if that matters in this case?)
Thanks.

No. You (Bootstrap Administrator) use OD GUI => User Access => Servers to do that.
Information is actually kept in odhome/db/od-admin and od-user DBs.
I *think* there is also a CLT to set it up, but I'm not sure

i just upgraded to od 6.1 from od 5.6 on w2k3. and i had to add all the users using the admin GUI. i couldnt find any files where to add list of users or admins anywhere in OD 6.1. it sucks when u have 30 users and u have to add one by one...

Thanks for the confirmations - I thought that was the case but wanted to make sure before I documented it as such for part of an upgrade I'm working on.
