OD remote upgrade

hello,
we are upgrading from OD 5.6 to OD 6.1 on W2k. and i am in the phase to upgrade all the receivers 12 of them.
i read about the option of remote upgrade all those receivers by deploying the upgrade files from the admin. but i didnt get enough info from the manuals to really try it. does anyone have details steps to do a remote upgrade on OD 6.1? or manual that has details steps other than the one from interwoven / od 6.1 /installation guide.

I haven't investigated this yet (I'm involved with an upgrade to 6.1.0 too) but I would imagine that the remote upgrade will only work after the receivers have been upgraded to 6.1.0 too - i.e. remote upgrade would work for the next upgrade.

If this isn't the case - it would be nice to know - though I don't know if it will help us too much since my customer is also planning to upgrade the OS on their receivers and will be doing so by using new boxes to switch out the old ones...

OD CAN upgrade the software on the receivers to 6.1. However, I think they need to be running 5.6 SP1 or greater.

We have some 5.5 boxes that are going to cause us headaches this time around.

I have not done this yet, but we are in the planning stages.

i only need to upgrade 6 receivers... we can do it manually, but there is no garantuee it will work since alot of interwoven product get customized too much to where it is easier to upgrade manually.

i run some tests deploying from 5.6 as a sender to a box 6.1(admin/base/rcvr) and everything worked fine. but when i tried to deploy from the 6.1 box to the rcvr that is 5.6 it didnt work at alll it just says "node not found" even i made sure that odnodes.xml and odrcvr.xml are configured correctly.. i dont know if it is an issue b/w 5.6 as a rcvr and 6.1 as a sender>?

6.1 should be able to deploy to a 5.6 receiver, but you may need to patch the 5.6 receiver first (check the support site - I believe the patch number is: 1520)
