reverse deployment

one of our teams wants to get couple files created automatically on a live server. but they dont have access to it since it s live. and i suggested to them to do reverse deployment, bc i remmeber it works for getting data from the receivers back to the base. but the last time i read about reverse deployment was couple years back and i never done it. so i am hoping somebody on here have written a script for reverse deployment?
or has a detailed manual for it.

any ideas or help is very appreciated.

Reverse deployments have been, and I imagine still are (though I haven't looked carefully at the 6.1 manuals) documented in the manuals.

There isn't really that much too them - it requires using reverseSource and reverseTarget elements in place of source and target elements (there's a bit more too it but not much) - the manuals and the DTD for the deployment configuration files should get you through it.

The only caveat I recall right now (and I'm not sure if it applies to 6.1) is that one can (could?) not do reverse deployments between two base servers - only between a receiver and a base server.
