256 - Could not set variable

Hi,

I tried to place a string of 11954 chars in workflow using 'iwjobvariable' CLT. It returned 'Could not set variable' message. If i tried to set using setVariable() method then it returned 256 error code.

what is the maximum length of the string acceptable for iwjobvariable CLT?

This is one of those aspects that Interwoven has never been consistent on.
OD tends to do a pretty good job of defining the error codes and exit status results, TS is hit-or-miss depending on who wrote the particular part of the code and who wrote the particular part of the manual.

As indicated in the KB article - those are system error codes which OD/DD may encounter and (thankfully) pass through. TeamSite may encounter some of them too and I believe it will pass them through to the logs as well.

I believe the question was with regard to product-specific error codes (things like the infamous 1067 error code from TeamSite which ends up meaning that the license key is invalid)
