How can i make only the users who have access to TS be the ones who get access to any content in the teamsite backing store ,via iw-mount web share, and not Everyone?
Though i could not get your question correctly but still from Y:\ drive ... remove the EVERYONE account which has the READ permisions over files and folders.
Hi,first we created a windows group with all users in it which should have access to the IWServer share. Then we set the IWServer-Share permissions with:rmtshare \\YOUR_TS_SERVER\iwserver /REMOVE everyone /GRANT YOUR_DOMAIN\YOUR_GROUP:fPerhaps this will work for you, too...RegardsStefan
When I remove Everyone and try to Apply it i get this error message which is somewhat similar to File not found! So i am unable to remove Everyone from the Security tab of Y: drive's Properties!
Please tell me in which document of Interwoven i can find that.
So i have to do that in command prompt? Please tell me in which document of Interwoven i can find that. I have TS mounted to Y:,so in the following do i have to replace :f with :Y" rmtshare \\YOUR_TS_SERVER\iwserver /REMOVE everyone /GRANT YOUR_DOMAIN\YOUR_GROUP:f " ?
last I recall looking into this - You cannot remove Everyone from the access rights for things like Y:\, Y:\default\main\branch, Y:\default\main\branch\WORKAREA - but you could remove them from Y:\default\main\branch\WORKAREA\workarea_name and from Y:\default\main\branch\STAGING.The best way to do this, however, is at TeamSite installation time - make sure you create the webserver_group on your TeamSite server before doing the first reboot of a fresh installation. The webserver_group is defined in the iw.cfg file and has a default value of "TeamSite Web Preview" - personally, I prefer to change it to "TSWebPreview" before doing the first reboot. You need to create the group, and potentially manually add the user TSIMP_hostname to that group.
Yep, you do this in a command prompt on your TS server.rmtshare is a standard windows server tool, not an iw command. The :f gives full acess to the group, look into the rmtshare options to see more...
TeamsiteWeb Preview group and Everyone have both access to Y:,now i want only the TeamSite WebPreview group to have that access ,will rmtshare\\...(as told by you ) work?
You have two different possibilities to restrict the access of your IWServer:1. you restrict the file and directoy permission2. you restrict the share permission (that was my suggestion before)If you restrict the share permission, you have a limited usergroup which can mount the Y:-drive of your TS server.Don't know, if thats enough for you.
