editing application_custom.xml

Gidday all,

I have edited application_custom.xml to allow TS e'as to be preserved when importing and overwriting a file.

When I run make_toolkit.ipl I get the following error.

Making XML visible

Have you ever built the GUI on this instance of TS ? Roll you changes back and try it. The XML looks correct.

Several things to note from the above:

like the problem - you should probably check to see if that file exists - however I'd be interested in looking at a physical copy of one of the XML files that it complained about because perhaps there's some formatting or BOM or something in them that is causing the validation issues and the error at the bottom may be more a result of the previous issues than a real issue.

Yes, this is 6.7 we upgraded from 6.1, I have attached all files

are all files in this directory.

Yesterday when I ran it, it appeared as if I didnt have the appropriate permissions on some files, my sysadmin guy changed permissions of the files where necessary. This list of errors was shorter than yesterdays. We are in an environment where we do not have full access to the box.

Well - the roles_custom.xml file uses:

   <operation ...></operation>

which you might try changing to just

<operation .../>

but both the roles_custom.xml and application_custom.xml file contain DOS EOL's (^M's) - as do the other files (which didn't seem to generate the errors) - you might try changing these to use UNIX EOL's (i.e. get rid of the ^M's) and see if that fixes anything.

If you're working on Windows - try using an editor like TextPad which provides an option for saving files in Unix mode (other editors do too - but I know TextPad does)
