How to close image tage in visual format

The image tage remains open in visual format and because of that i am getting parsing error. that's why I want to close it?

The image tage remains open in visual format and because of that i am getting parsing error. that's why I want to close it?

I believe there's an option in the VF config file to have it generate XHTML compliant code - search the manual for details.
