Hi,

I am facing a problem while setting the values for a drop down box in DCT through cgi-callout.

Syntax which i used for setting the values in drop down box :

calloutForm.elements["CFJ/promo_code_group/affiliate_name"].value = promovalues[3];

Here,
container name is promo_code_group
drop down item name is affiliate_name

The values get setted in the drop down during cgi-callout but while OnSave, the affiliate_name item(drop down) is highlighted as reqiured.i.e., it returns the values as null.

Environment :Teamsite 6.5.
Operating System : Solaris 5.8

Just to be clear - this is a FormsPublisher DCT right? Not the metadata capture DCT?

In either case, I think you need to provide a lot more of the contextual code in order for someone to figure out what you're doing wrong - but given that FormAPI is javascript - you could probably start doing a bit more debugging on your own utilizing alert() statements to figure out whether or not the objects you are changing are in fact the objects you think you are changing.

But when the validation code executes at the DCT, on save, an error occurs saying "Please select the brand" (missing required fields), etc.. even if the values are already selected in the DCT form through CGI Window.

We have screenshots also.but we are not able to attach it due to its size is more.

When you set the fields explicitly via FormAPI code - try explicitly setting the fields to valid as well.

As earlier 'ghoti' said, set the field validity explicitly to true.

Read more for setValid(true) in FormAPI developers guide.

On form load the values for the drop down (Brand) is populated from the database.I am calling a function named savedcr() on "onSave event".In that i am getting the values for Brand and saving the DCT.On clicking the Existing button through a cgi - callout i am invoking a file "existing.cgi", a cgi window opens.

in this cgi , i am setting the values for the drop down in the dct from the database.

promovalues[1] returns the values for the drop down(Brand).According to the values selected the corresponding label will be displayed in the drop down(Brand).
