Replicant issue

I have a replicant in which i try to populate value from some remote server.
A form api method is used to set value in replicant which is as follows:

function setReplicantPartListOptions(options, list) {
var item = IWDatacapture.getItem(list);
var newOptions = new Array();
for (i = 0; i < options.length; i++ ) {
newOptions = new Option(options.text, options.value);
}
item.setOptions(newOptions);
IWDatacapture.redraw();
}

The value gets displayed on DCT as shown in DCT.zip but after saving, nothing gets stored in this replicant in DCR.

Is there any other way to populate the replicants??

P.S. Position value gets populated bt Selected_Abstract(which is populated thru Form API) is not getting populated.

check to see at the tag in your replicant if you are using path id or location id. You should be using path id for items and location id for containers
