Workspace Security / Permissions

I have a number of workspaces which I would like to modify security / permissions by adding a new group to give a certain group of people full access to the workspaces.

Is there a way I can apply this security to all of the workspaces in one go, rather than applying the new group individaully to each workspace?

I have downloaded Workspace Manager, but I can't seem to find how to modify security to multiple workspaces already in place.

Could you please provide some further assistance?

or is there anybody else with another idea of how to achieve this?

The WorkSpace Manager, is a comprehensive, full-featured MCC management tool for WorkSite. It can manage (create, change or destroy) ANY aspect of the WorkSite Matter-Centric Architecture.

You will need to create a Job within WorkSpace Manager, and add an Input Database connection within the job properties. Then add a WorkSite login to the server(s) where the WorkSpaces you want to change reside (we can manage any number of servers and databases from a single instance of the program). Add a query to get the data about the WorkSpaces you want to change to the input source query (e.g., SELECT CLIENTNO, MATTERNO FROM ...). This "primary" query can provide you with the list of the WorkSpaces you want to change.

Add a template on the Templates tab (we have our own template designer GUI, since our tool's capabilities go way beyond what the Interwoven tools can do), and at a minimum, add the WorkSpace object, and define the security the way to want it on the WorkSpaces. Note that this security can be "hard coded" to specific values, or set by values coming out of your primary query, or "secondary queries" that return dynamic lists of users and/or groups and the security they should have on a particular WorkSpace.

WorkSpace Manager can also do the following:

"Publish" WorkSpace Shortcuts to users two different ways
"Age" WorkSpaces, which can remove shortcuts, copy WorkSpaces and all of their structure and content from one database to another, or Delete WorkSPace structures and/or content
"Provision" documents into Folders using multiple searches, and move documents from one Folder to another
Manage Subscriptions
Modify any aspect of any My Matters container, Shortcut, WorkSpace, Tab, Folder, or Search, including all properties, metadata, and security
Pull data on demand from any number of external ODBC data sources
Run specific jobs for WorkSpace creation, updating, publishing, provisioning, aging continuously or on demand, in completely unattended modes
Create "hybrid" WorkSpace using multiple templates for a single WorkSpace
Maintain identical "Parallel" WorkSpaces in multiple databases, cross-provisioned with content shortcuts to content in other databases
Open ActiveX/COM "Engine" architecture is VERY FAST (10K WorkSpaces/hour), and can be integrated into your applications
