TeamSite replaying last 2 days events during attempted shutdown

I have never seen anything like this before. We are attempting to shutdown TeamSite, and it has shut down the event sub system, and we are currently seeing all the TeamSite events from yesterday go by in the iwevents.log file.

Totally baffling. Has anyone seen this behavior before?
