IE 6.0 Freezing when Templates Load (TS 6.5 sp2)

Hi,

Some users are experiencing an issue where their IE Browser freezes every time the user tries to open a template and then uses the vertical scroll bar to scroll down and see more of the template. The issue happens in IE 6 sp2. We are running TS 6.5 sp2. There are visual format enabled fields on the template, but only three or four of them (not a huge number and no replicants). We've uninstalled visual format and re-installed visual format. We've deleted all cookies and all 'IE plug ins'. We've done everything we (or our desktop support) people can think of and are unable to resolve the issue. The issue only happens upon vertical scrolling of the IE window that the template opened in. The user must then 'kill' the IE window from the task manager in order to keep working. Has anyone else seen this issue?

Two suggestions. Try removing VFE and see if the error still happens.

Also, check the Java level (thought that *should* not cause this)

oops..we have more and more users reporting the same issue. I believe this is a bug and we have a support case open for this. For the timebeing, the workaround we have is to maximize the window on load using form API. Try maximizing the window and then scroll down to the VFE fields. If it does not freeze the IE try to implement it using form API. We do have other threads in the devnet for the same issue. Someone has pointed that using mod_expires feature solved this issue, but that did not work for us, hence the workaround. I suggest to file a case with support so that they know there are other people around facing the same issue.
