how to Stop Open Deploy

Hi,

How to stop this deployment, I tried the deploycancel command..Still it is not getting cancelled.What could be the reason.

Any help, greatly appreciated..

But how, ps -l list all the process, from that list how can I know my which is my process and what's its PID.

ps -aef | grep NG and there u can check ur deploy process. It further depends how did you give deployment instance in your deploy scripts

Would definitely recommend you to go through the OD manuals or basic traininig on Interwoven products...

Also, your receiver may be in a bad state if you do that. You may need to restart OD on the receiver.

One big peeve of mine (IWOV PM listening ? ) is that if the logs dir fills up (not uncommon) on the receiver, the deployment suspends in mid air. Of course my workflow external task times out & tries to cancel (but cannot). It gets into a bad state.

Of course this could be fixed by IT giving more disk to the log dir, but OD should handle this more gracefully.

To drill down this further

By placing only "*" in grep wont help anything. You need to place ".*" to specify match any characters before NG but in that case even grep NG only will be a good option Smiley Wink

In unix regex
a* - matches 0 or more occurrences of 'a'
aa* - matches 1 or more occurrences of 'a'
.* - matches any string of characters

i had the same issue here on OD 6.1 w2k3... when i try a deployment.. and because of firewall issue the deployment doesnt go throw, so it stays hangin in "setting up"... when i click on cancel, it stays in "cancel pending" till i restart the service... is restartin the iwdo60 the only solution? is this something gonna be fix in OD? or is it just one of those things that we have till deal with for now?

Chris, in your scenario I have seen this when the disk holding the receiver log files is full. It is ugly no question. I do not know if there is a bug or not, but there certainly should be one.
