Or is there another way to share a common set of templates between multiple workareas? Thanks!
I've searched and found a previous thread on this topic, but I thought I'd ask if there's any other alternatives. The previous suggestion when having multiple workareas that all share common templates is to have one workarea where you maintain the templates, submit them to staging, and then do a get latest in each of the workareas so they all have the most current version of templates. This is fine if you have only a handful of workareas, but what about when you have 50 or even 100 workareas? Going into each one and doing a get latest is not a very optimal solution. Is there a good way to automate this process? Or is there another way to share a common set of templates between multiple workareas? Thanks!
I am a little confused here. Are you looking to share templates on the same branch across many workareas ? Create the template in 1 WA and do a get latest. You can also do the following which allows you to prevent access to the DCT and TPL for the users.
If you want the same template in multiple branches then for your DCT use something like this:

The datacapture.ipl pushed out XML for the DCT.and this in your PT

If you don't go with that kind of setup and have actual DCTs and/or PTs in a given branch - then you can use the iwupdate CLT to forcibly push the update from staging into all the workareas on that branch -- it's the same thing as GetLatest - but being driven programmatically and for a specific set of files rather than the entire workarea.
