6.7.1: weird messages in error_log

The following messages seem to be recorded every time the UI services are restarted (via make toolkit or iwreset):


[Mon Dec 18 00:21:54 2006] [error] (1)Operation not permitted: mod_mime_magic: can't read magic file /apps/intrwvn/iw-home/iw-webd/conf/magic
[Mon Dec 18 00:21:55 2006] [warn] RSA server certificate CommonName (CN) `teamsite.interwoven.com' does NOT match server name!?

Should there be a magic file at that path? Is the RSA error something we can ignore?

This is something you have check with your Teamsite Certificate. Might be you would given a wrong CN name in the Certificate...

These are the certificates provided by Interwoven and generated by the iw-webd process. Not sure I need to check anything here....

I reported this problem too - with a 6.7.1 Solaris 10 installation - we got rid of one of the warnings by disabling the SSLEngine in one of the config files (httpd.conf.template or something like that) - the missing magic file error message remained though.

Nope - never figured it out while I was on that project, and haven't been involved with that customer for a while now so I have no idea if they ever received a response or figured out how to get rid of it.

FYI, if you want to get rid of the 'snake oil' warnings without disabling SSL, this KB article now exists to generate a new certificate:
