Special Symbols

Greetings All!

We are facing an issue with one of our dropdowns. The symbol

™ does not appear properly in our dropdowns. We used the numeric encoding for the same We also tried with ™. It still did not work. The strangest part is that symbols like

®, ¥ and

™ symbol gets disrupted to !22. We dont know the reason why.

I see sonething strange in the numeric encoding of the symbol. It has 4 chars after the &#x chars(2122). Whereas the other symbols just have 2 chars.

Can somebody help?

"x2122" does not indicate the number of symbol characters, byte representation or anything of that nature.
For example, in UTF-8 codeset ™-Symbol is three bytes, byte representation is 0xE284A2.

0x2122 ( or 8482 if you prefer Decimals to Hex ) is just the number of Unicode entity, nothing more.
So, providing that you render your page with the proper encoding something like the following *should* work:[html]

Fourth

Thanks a lot. The issue has been resolved. It was a bug with our code. A call server was also populating the dropdown. Once we removed it , it started working fine. Thanks a lot anyways.
