Which platform of TeamSite are you upgrading? If it is Linux, you will see in the article, that it will require a new installation. There are also different OS compatibility requirements with the different platforms. You can review the compatibility for TeamSite 6.7.1 SP1 here:

Of course, you should also review the Release notes, and the Suplement guide before upgrading your system to ensure you make all the necessary back-ups and have a system that is fully compatible with the new version.
