viewing Config files from OD interface error

hello, i am having a problem with viewing the deployment config files from OD admin interface, everytime i choose start deployment>serverA>choose deployment>view config: i get this error?

Invalid at the top level of the document. Error processing resource 'http://172.19.10.41:8081/iw/opendeploy/ViewConfigData?...

i am thinking it might be unicode issue or something like that but i thought i d ask on here in case of somebody knows a quick fix.

and when i go to manage server>serverA> i can view the OD config files "odnodes.xml" just fine.

any ideas?

sorry i tried to post the files on here but it wont work so i can space the char "<" but it think it is just format issue....

Are you sure the deployment configuration file is valid?
Have you tried to run it (perhaps in simulated mode) to verify that it can be parsed?
It's possible that it contains some syntactical error that is preventing it from being read/rendered.
It's also possible that it might be a permissions issue - though one would hope for a better error message in that case.

it is some xml syntax issue, i could view some deployment config files, but i coudlnt view others. and they all work, like i never receiver failed deployment! when i look both files, they look file and identical, and when i compared them using a software, the one that i cant see, shows strange character at the begining of the first line "ï»¿"

so i just copy the deployment configurations into the valid xml file and it works file...

sorry to bother u here with this kind of issues, i just thought posting them and posting the answer will help somebody else sometime...

What you see is UTF-8 Byte Order Mark (BOM) characters.

It probably originated from Unicode-enabled software (like XMLSpy, UltraEdit, etc) that you used to create XML.
If that's the case, check software settings. You can usually switch this "unsolicited service" off.
