DCT paging ??

hi . i have been trying to enable paging in my dct with no success. this is what i have done so far:

1- i added items-per-page attribute in templating.cfg file like below:

data-type name="test" dcr-type="iwov" items-per-page="5"

i also tried

data-type name="test" dcr-type="xml" items-per-page="5"

2- i opened my dct and created 11 replicants but it still doesnt show me the next page button ???

i am missing here anything ?

how does items-per-page attribute suppose to work?? what i mean is: which item in the DCT that will be effected when we add this attribute in our templating.cfg file.

this is what the manual says:

i did put my replicant as the first item in the form but still not working ??? any idea how to tackle this issue.

in another thread the user says :

does he/she used foreach statement to loop through the replicants in the dcr ?? where did he use foreach statement ?? ( in the DCT or the PT) ???????? this sounds unclear to me??

any idea how to enable paging in our DCT when we need to create alot of replicants .????????????????????

You may try to design your DCT in such a manner that it has several small(er) top level containers. Alternatively, you may use FormAPI to
open the Form with collapsed containers.

where did he use foreach statement

If you want some explanation regarding another thread, post a link. That said, your issue differs. You are trying to design
multi-page DCT, (s)he was using "foreach" and whatnot in the presentation template that parses out several DCRs, possibly of different types.

Btw, if you do not know what dcr-type is, leave it iwov (a default), that's probably how your DCRs were created
in the first place.

items-per-page attribute only controlls how many items per page you want your dct to have. it wont work for containers ( it wont look at containers as items neither). i tried to have one container per page but i didnt allow me to do that neither.

there are other ways to do it but it envloves abit work.

The other ways include - to put a hidden item.. but that could affect your DCR structure.

That is somewhat inaccurate. For the type "iwov" and a DCT with multiple containers on the root level "items-per-page"
works and single container per Page is allowed. To illustrate, try [html]

With type="xml", in TS 6.7.1, you can have tabs.

so, you could say
