Remove the popup after "Generate"

How can I remove the popup that occurs after I click on a DCT's "Generate" link and select the Presentation Template as well as the generated file name?

Hi Dave,

Even i had to waste some of the hours to get hold of it... but at last i have to capture the 'Click on Generate' and use my custom script to get the output as per the requirements.

I would be happy to know... if someone else has acheived as per your requisition.

Oh, you mean through FormAPI? So, you prompted the user for the appropriate PT (if more than one is available) and the output file name?

Yup... and if there is more than one PT available in your case... then i suggest to get back to the IWOV style else you have to use CGI selection and all that... huh !!

Yes, there are multiple PT's available but if I need to put it into FormAPI, then I can define an array that has the options available per DCT. I'd rather not have to call some CLT or parse templating.cfg, etc.!

Okay, so this is what I did -- which I tend to think is easier (and probably unsupported):

I put in a couple of RewriteRule lines in rewrite.conf and rewrite.conf.template that redirected requests for iwtmplpreview.cgi and iwtmplhtmlgenerate.cgi to two other scripts... the preview replacement just closes itself and the generate replacement generates the page based on form variables that are passed in and then it closes itself. So, no actual visualization is provided via "Generate".

You are absolutely right... its all unsupported.

Anyways, let it be but document it so that it needs to be done after patch installation or upgrade. I know Dave knows all... but generally for others.

Unsupported? Aaahh...

Y'know, I must admit that I get a bit of "wood" after doing something that proves to be an effective workaround and saves me quite a bit of work while being unsupported and is likely not something that others have tried before.
