TeamSite 6.5 - SP upgrade from SP2 to SP3

Hi All,

We are in the process of upgrading to TeamSite 6.5 SP3 from SP2.

After going through the supplementry document provided by Interwoven, I found that there is no mention of backing up the files / customized files.

Not sure if I can goahead with my upgrade without backing up any of my files. Request anyone of you to help me to walk through this upgrade.

alot of people did this upgrade during the Daylight saving change... and it was painful to alot of windows guys, i didnt hear much from solaris users. but i think it is good idea to always have back up of your iw-home no matter what change you will be making...

look for some threads here talking about the Daylight saving issues and there were couple long threads about upgrading from SP2 to 3.

and i dont even think that SP3 is worth the move... the only good thing about it is the daylight saving new rule, which you can get by runing the tzupdater from sun.

i backed up from SP3 and i just run TZupdater on mine because of issues encountered with SP3.

The only reason why we are going to upgrade from SP2 to SP3 is Oracle 10g is supported in SP3 but not in SP2. So we are kind of forced to upgrade to SP3.

Let me give it a try as you said you did not hear much 'hungama' for the upgrade on Solaris.

Will get back to you if I am stuck with issues. Thanks again for the link.

We rolled out the SP3 upgrade to our dev and test servers recently without issue. We plan on rolling this out in production soon. Aside from running the SP install and following the directions, I would recommend backing up both the "$iwhome" dir and also the "iwinstall" dir ( cd `iwgethome`/../iwinstall).

Other than that, no gotchas that I am aware of.
