TS 6.7.1 Solaris 10 SPARC Install

As per the TS 6.7.1 release notes

"Starting with TeamSite 6.7.1, the TeamSite server (that is, iwserver) running on UNIX systems is run by the process iwts rather than by root. As a result, after TeamSite 6.7.1 is installed, permissions on all Content Store files are reset to enable iwts, and all TeamSite processes except iwutild and iwauthend run as iwts or iwui."

I have some questions as I am doing this installation first time

1) Can I install TS 6.7.1 logging in as a Non-Root User.

2) From a System Administrator point of view, he is asking us to create a application user for Teamsite Software so that no one has access to "root" password. How would this work for installation and also the Directories created.

3) Can the application user access be granted to "/Interwoven/TeamSite" and "/iw-store" directories ?

Although Interwoven often mandates that you be logged in as 'root' to perform the installation, I've done many such installations and/or worked along side system administrators who did such installations using sudo. As far as I know it has to be one or the other - I don't believe you can use "joe user" account to perform the installation.

With respect to '2' and possibly '3' - prior to installing TeamSite you / your system admin can create a user and group (both) with the name "iwts" so that they can pre-define the UID/GID that will be used for those entries. TeamSite will install such that the mount points and such will be owned by "iwts".

You will still probably need to allow for broader access to some of the directories within IWHOME - but if you're doing a fresh installation they should be set up correctly for you.
