how to create Users

i want to Add a TeamSite User using teamsite 6.7.1
and want to add a user in the domain how to add a domain user to
the team site (since team site ask for OS users)
(i try for example domain\user1 doesnt work) can
any one help me to solve this issue

Are you trying to do this through the GUI or from the command line?
Have you tried using a double-backslash (domain\\user1)?
If through the GUI, have you tried just the userid (user1) and click on Find to see if it can be found?
If it cannot be found have you verified that the domain is listed within the domain_list setting for either/both the [iwcgi] and [iwserver] sections of your iw.cfg file? (and if you change it, that you do an iwreset -ui afterwards)

You want to wait and upgrade to TeamSite 6.7.1SP1 (due out relatively soon I believe) - one of its (SP1's) primary features is the ability to support non-OS users (i.e. users that only exist in LDAP / AD)

However - the use of such functionality does not come for free, as non-OS users cannot be "impersonated" and thus various parts of TS that utilize impersonation, most notably things like page generation (the Perl code in PTs - whether directly present in <iw_perl> tags or implicitly included in any other of the XML tags) won't work - to this end there will be a new option in the templating.cfg allowing you to specify a web url for a specific PT compiler that is for XSLT only code (no more <iw_value>'s and <iw_iterates>'s)

You'll have to probably wait for the SP to be released and then read the release notes --- carefully.

(this is the kind of advance information one gets when attending GearUp conferences)

Alternatively - yes, you would need to create Unix id's for all the users and they would need to login to TeamSite with the Unix id's (this may prove the simpler way to do things - though not as nice from the end-user's perspective)

A middle ground solution would be to enable PAM authentication on your UNIX system so that it uses the AD for authentication. You still have to create system users, but as long as you use the same naming convention (or an intelligent mapping), the users would "think" that they were logging into the domain because the of the passthrough authentication. This does not remove any of the functionality that Fish mentioned, either.
