Anything fun or funny happen? Any tales of shocking, scandalous behavior? I know what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, but y'all weren't in Vegas. So share.

OK, so here are a few comments on GearUp.

The keynote speakers were pretty cool, Craig from Craigslist was interesting.

The technical sessions were lacking (IMHO). Some of the presos seemed like sales presentations.

There certainly were some good ones, there was a TS GUI redesign focus group (for lack of a better term), that was interesting. People were able to write about what they liked and didn't like. Though they did not have a plan to change the DCR GUI, that is the biggest weakness that I know of (the way TS handles and shows replicants).

The OD BOF (Birds of a Feather) was also very helpful. I mentioned a FR that I have had out for 4 or 5 years, the team responded, hmmm, that is a great idea.

Heather also had a support team BOF after the sessions had ended, that was also very helpful. One thing that was mentioned is the lack of new Tech Articles. My suggestion is that we start a thread with a list of articles that we would really like and see if people may start writing them.

The partner pavilion was one of the best I have ever seen. There are several products out that that compliment the IWOV suite very well. 2 that stood out to me the most were Baynote (if you search on Devnet you see it) and WebSideStory (analytics of web traffic - they are former game designers so the graphics are freaking awesome).

Finally IWOV has a new product out call Tracker, that will help close the loop, from analytics to bring that data back in so the content teams can make changes to improve the site traffic.

I have some great stories from GearUP, but none that I can tell on Devnet! Overall it was a great conference with some valuable information. I would have liked to see some "new" information in some of the tracks, but overall a great event.

I think you mean Interwoven Targeting? It's a pretty cool new product that let's you put your website users into segments and analyze their activity.

My other thoughts...
I had a great time at GearUp. I only get to meet the faces behind DevNet at Conferences, and I really value the chance to discuss what we are doing well, and what we need to improve on.

The pizza, pints, and poker night was fun - although I wish I could have played, although Adam was a serious shark. So, I'd probably want to play at the kiddie table.

Next year, we were thinking of offering a workshop possibly with certification the day before GearUp on several topics - would that be interesting to people and what topics would you like to learn about? We would probably host it at Interwoven and it would be a combination of engineering and training covering a topic with labs built in.

That sounds interesting. Not sure exactly what topics to suggest - but that might be better left until a month or two before the event ....
