Workarea access issue - New user

I guess this issue was posted before.

Environment : TS 6.5 sp1, Windows 2003

I am trying to create a branch BRAN_1 and assigning with group BRAN_1. The OS group has 5 users. One of the user(he got new domain account recently) can't able to access the branch workarea either by email or directly from teamsite UI.

1. From email --
When he is trying to edit - It is giving the error, "The file is not writable"
When he is trying to view - The error is "You do not have permission to view file :...."

2. From UI
He is able to go upto workarea level for few projects, other projects even workarea is diabled. It has two sub folders(htdocs & templatedata), it is showing in grey color(disabled).

All the 5 users are coming from domain like DOMAIN1\user1. Everybody is member of the group. Why is it only giving access problem to one guy?

3. Other testing

a. I added him to author.uid, now he belongs to admin, editor and author. I didn't see any change.
b. I removed him from that project and added manually, no change
c. He logged in as Admin and tried to create a branch, then it is giving error, you don't have permisson to create it.
d. He is the user of the 7 projects/branches
He can able to access only the two projects. So he may not have any issues with domain account because he can able to access atleast two.

Please help me in this issue. Thanks for your help.

Did you do an iwreset after adding the user to your windows group?

Thanks for your reply. Yes, I did that already. The user is able to go upto workarea level. But it is in grey color(disabled). Is there any missing information? Thanks.

Hi,
only a shot int he dark: try to find the entity file of that user and delete it (/iw-home/local/entities/data/...). Perhaps the access is ok after that...

What does that prove if one doesn't have access to the above mentioned path/folder ?

And how does it affect after we delete it ?

I renamed 'Entities' directory and created new. I didn't see any change.
But suddenly(I don't know it may be result of the above action), some times, it is allowing the user upto DCT level, but the 'Edit' button link is disabled.

But few DCTs are allowing edit operation. The properties difference is:

Disabled DCT properties
Everyone:Read (RX),SERVER1\ts_admin:Full Control (All),SERVER1\ts_users:Full Control (All)

Enabled DCT properties
Everyone:Read (RX),SERVER1\ts_admin:Full Control (All),SERVER1\ts_users:Full Control (All),SERVER1\PG618_51:Full Control (All), SERVER1\TeamSite Web Preview:Full Control (All)

Here PG618_51 is the group. So automatically the group is disappearing.
Sometimes, if we restart the server, it is changing the group name to some SID like S-123-12132323-34343..It is really strange behaviour.

I would suggest that you open a support case.
