Custom Functions Not appearing after the Upgrade

Hi

We upgraded from TS 6.1 to 6.7.1 since then couple of the custom functions which appeared in 6.1 version are not appearing in File menu action and Hompage in CC std, Has any one faced this problem.? attachment has the ui_custom.xml code that are not working. I browsed through the UI Customization documentation and doesnt seem like we have to do anything different for UI customizations in 6.7.1

Please advice/point to any error or any suggestions.

Dumb questions first, you did rebuild the GUI after copying in the ui_custom.xml ?

Yes we did re-build. Its strange because one new custom function and the TS original functions (Like delete) that we replaced with our own custom cgi using the TS Link Ids are appearing.

Do you have old versions of the customization files sitting in that directory (e.g.: ui_custom.xml.old) or anywhere within that directory tree? If so - those are being compiled in when you build the toolkit and will adversely affect the results of the build.

There are two more ui_custom.xml in the directory tree, One under customer_samples_src/etc/conf/customer_samples and other under customer_src_new/etc....(doesnt contain any customizations). Both are supplied by IW, and were present in earlier version too.

We recently had the same symptoms, and it took me some time to figure out that you MUST have an entry for the custom menu item in both the "ui_custom.xml" file AND the "userops_custom.xml" file. IMHO, the uicg documentation in NOT very clear about this.

For example, our userops_custom.xml has the following...

display-name="showEnv"
id="cu.ccpro.show_env.op"/>

[/html]

...and our ui_custom.xml also has the following:
[html] [/html]

I'm not sure if this is where you're stuck, but I just thought I'd mention how we got past this hurdle.

Removing the operationID from the first Custom function worked,So it proves that if you have an operationID in the custom function you need to have an entry for theat id in userops_custom.xml as well. The second one, which should have created link in the action list on the top, right hand corner of CC standard doesnt have an operationID in it and it apeears on the subsequent pages except the CC standard home page. ou are right about UICG documentation. Its not very clear about.

If I recall correctly - the operationId was only used for the roles_custom.xml file - and that as of 6.7[.1] there is no roles_custom.xml file (instead there is a userops_custom.xml as you noted) - and the operationId is no longer a valid attribute of the items being defined in the ui_custom.xml - so regardless of whether you want to place restrictions on the custom menu item I believe you must remove the operationId attributes from the ui_custom.xml settings.

operationID is still valid according to UICG doc. Page 86 / 87(of Rel1.7.0) has examples.

For CCstd homepage you need to use the id
action-listid="iw.ccstd.common.actions_top.actionlist.withoutlinks

for subsequent pages you can use the old action id

iw.ccstd.common.actions_top.actionlist

Order on both the pages will be different, but this you can fix with
iwov-insert-before tag (I guess).

Okay - maybe it was just the need to get rid of the roles_custom.xml and use the userops_custom.xml instead - Thanks for the correction.
