Assign Workflow to Generate-Button

Hi!

Is it possible to instanciate a workflow when a user clicks the Generate Button?

Does any one know if this is possible or a workaround??

I was looking along the lines of a CGI Callout but it has to be associated with an Item and I would like to either have the generate button kick off a workflow or define a button that would do something similar..

Any thoughts?

You should be able to invoke the workflows by calling the url:
http://servername/iw-bin/iwwft_instantiator.cgi?iw_branch={branchname}&iw_first_time=true&iw_role={role}&iw_template_file={workflowname}.wft&iw_use_defaults=true&iw_user={username}&iw_workarea={workareaname}
You can capture the required information in the FormAPI and substitute the one's in {}.
