issue in updating BLOB data with data deploy

We are getting the following error in our data deploy,
previously these updates used to work fine and Im **** sure we are not writing any explicit code for locking the row containing BLOB column(as is a requirement in such case).
Is there a possibility of perl or dd version getting updated where it needs to be explicitly locked?

ERROR:IOException occured: ORA-22920: row containing the LOB value is not locked
ERROR:Write to BLOB column [AEB_BULLETIN Smiley Tongue

DF_PATH] failed.

we are using teamsite5.5 ver

TS 5.5 good freaking luck. That has been end of life for a couple years.

What DB ? What OS ?

The only thing I can remember was that Oracle JDBC had trouble with large BLOBs (> 4096 b) when I worked with 5.5

We needed to use the Oracle full client rather than JDBC

Also, can you get your admin to see if there are any locks out there ? I do remember DD dying in the middle and leaving a lock or 2 around that needed to be manually removed.

Yeah we know its kinda obselete, just few of the systems r remaining to get migrated.
We are using oracle 9i db.
Will chk if BLOB size is an issue.
