I am trying to get the vpath of my dcrs through my perl script that creates these dcrs from a data file, right now I am using $iwmnt/complete path to the dcrs/ is there a better way to get the path to the dcrs from within the perl script instead of hardcoding it in the script? Thanks.
Hi,If you need the path to appended with /iwmnt , you will have to it append it manually.Another way would be to get the WORKAREA path to be fetched into a constant and append the dcr/file path to it.Hope this suits your requirement.Thanks,Pawan
use TeamSite::Config;use TeamSite::CGI_lite;$cgi = new TeamSite::CGI_lite;$cgi->parse_data();$vpath = $cgi->{form}{vpath};
We are planning to kick-off this script using open deploy
Is this script running on the source side or target side?If the target side, is the target side a TeamSite server or something else?Can you explain a bit more the procedural steps involved here? You have a data file (where? how is it created/maintained?) that contains information (what information? what format?) which is being extracted (by what process? the script that's the primary topic of this thread?) to create DCRs (presumably on a TeamSite server).And somehow this is all tied to a deployment.Is the data file being deployed to the TeamSite server from some other server? (reverse deployment?) - and you're trying to use a DNR script to parse the contents of the deployed data file to generate DCRs?? and somehow this script that is generating the DCRs doesn't know the path to the DCRs???I'm confused.
The script is running on the source side.The data is a csv file that is received from a 3rd Party. The file is uploaded into TeamSite where the values need to be extracted using a Custom Perl Script.This Perl script will be executed by a DNR by the client in OD. The reason we are trying to use OD is so that the any user can run the script without having to login to UNIX and kick it off at the CMD. Once the script runs, the data is extracted and made into DCR's. Each DCR will be used to allow the client to enter additional data which will be used in the generated XML file. Then using another OD script. The generated XML file will be deployed to the production TeamSite server to drive Flash files.We are trying to avoid hard coding paths and have been trying to use VPATH to automatically get the required paths-1) Path to the csv file2) Type=Content/Type information using VPATH to be used in the iwextattr which is also run from the perl script. Thanks.
