auto dcr submit on submit of corresponding html

when you click edit link on in the visual preview of an html file you are directed to the corresponding dcr. Now i want to submit my corresponding dcr everytime when my html file is submitted. how do i do this?

Look at the attribute of the HTML, which will be having DCR's also one of its attribute. Using this you can get the corresponding DCR of that html, while submitting you can submit together.

yes i can see the extende attributes n fidn out the dcr but how do i submit it automatically

You can try modifying the Workflow to include an external task that Searches the metadata of the Attached Html pulls out the Primary DCR and attaches the DCR to the same workflow. This way you can submit the DCR along with the HTML.

Or write down a small custom workflow invoked from Submit button. In that add an external task that adds the Primary DCR of the HTML to the workflow and the second task can be Submit task if u do not have to do other processing.

I believe there is a perl module called WFworkflow... Here u can find the function to attach a file to workflow.

There is a module called TeamSite::WFworkflow - but the one responsible for allowing additions of files to jobs via tasks is TeamSite::WFtask. Use perldoc on these modules for more information.

i am using ur script to add dcr to workflow. when i run the workflow the html gets submitted to staging are but no the dcr. we add the dcr to the filelist ionside the ipl file that u have provided. but we do not return the updated file list ot workflow anywhere. so only the html gets submitted and dcr doesnt.

Well - you got what you paid for ;-)

The general logic in the script appears to be correct, though it could certainly be written better. The main problem, I believe (having not tried to use it), is that there is no use of chomp() on the return values from iwextattr and thus it is likely that $attachfile may contain embedded newlines which will cause problems -- though you should see errors in one of the various log files if that's the case.

I'll leave the full debugging to someone else (you?).

Don't know if this will help but here is the code we use in our workflow to call the ipl.

this is the task i have written in my workflow. and my ipl is in same folder as my workflow.

i checked the iwjoberrors.log file it says could not run addDCR.ipl, retrying after one minute.

i have put loggon inside the ipl file but the log file is empty after runnig the workflow. the r no entries. i think the ipl file is not accessible at all.

Hi,

Please check the file permissions on your ipl file along with any other reason as to why the ipl file is not called.
