Deleting deployed files from server

Hello all,

i want to delete the deployed files from server after some fixed time due to expiry to content after that time. it has nothing to do with target area content. can anyone suggest me how to procced for that i mean that if anyone knows the how to delete files from server by use of deployment then please tell me.

There are a lot of ways to accomplish that.

If all your content is coming from TeamSite, then you could do something like this:
1) Query your TeamSite content for the names of all files that are expired. (If you get that info from DCRs or a Database, that's even better)
2) Create a file containing a list of all that content
3) Deploy the file list to your server
4) Deploy and run a deletion script that acts on each line of your file list.

*however* - - this seems like kind of a bad idea. Are you sure you want to get your content management repository out of synch with your production servers? Are you sure you want to automatically delete content without link checking or user intervention?

I think maybe the more appropriate solution is to make sure that you have a branch within your TS environment that reflects the current state of your Production environment. Run a nightly script to update that branch with additions and deletions of content based on expiration dates, and then do a synchronization deployment to your target environment. It's much cleaner, and it enforces a "single source" content repository that's I'd cringingly call a "best practice".
