My deployment fails to start, with an error
Area = (location of folder to be deployed from the source) not found

However, this folder does exist in the source server.
what can be the cause of this error?
In My script, localnode host (source of the deployment) is different from the server in which the deployment script resides. That is fine, right?

Have you updated the odbase and odnodes files for this current path ?
And check for the permissions of the user on this folder/ file.

i do not have the pdf dealing with explaination of elements of odbase. what do allowedhosts and allowed directories stand for? (are they the servers and directories to which deployment can take place to from the base server? )

Hi,

Well, the allowedhosts and alloweddirectories are for host and target directory for deployment.

You need to first go through some documented details about OD. You can get that in the .pdf files available.
You can get a lot of other related information in it.
