Trying to Lock Files

If I understand the " lock='t' " option within workflow, the files associated with a job are locked with the owner of the new task when the task is transitioned. However my workflows are getting stuck with the task status of "Trying to Lock Files".

If the files are not locked to begin with, they get locked just fine, but if the files are already locked, they don't get relocked with the new owner.

Everyone associated with my tests are MASTERS, so I'm assuming it's not a role issue.

How can you "relock" something? Does that defeat the purpose of having the lock in the first place?

Assume the following senerio:

I make a change to a file that must be approved by my manager and their manager.

I submit the job to my manager who approves it and forwards it on to their manager.

If I still hold the lock, not my manager, then I can make another change to the file that my manager never sees.

It is most preferable to pass the locks on to whomever is reviewing the content. Afterall, they may want to make more changes, fix a typo, correct a number...
