Metatagger Integration with Teamsite

Newly installed Teamsite products on Solaris Server. Teamsite Server, Search and Metatagger products are installed on the box.

Teamsite Version - 6.7.1
Metatagger - 4.1.1
OS - Solaris 10

I am trying to integrate Metatagger and Teamsite so that on DCR I am able to have Metagger functionality, so that it suggests metatags based on the content. Have followed the steps in MetaTagger Integration Guide

1. Locate the iw.cfg file on the TeamSite server:
- Windows (default location): iw-home\etc
- Solaris (default location): /etc

2. Add an iwmetatagger section to the iw.cfg file to tell TeamSite how to contact the MetaTagger server. (The iwmetatagger section lets the TeamSite Tagger GUI work with MetaTagger.) For example, add the following:
Note: The mt_server_name should specify the host name or IP number of the
MetaTagger host.

3. Restart the MetaTagger server. See Chapter 3, “Server Administration,” in the MetaTagger Installation and Administration Guide for instructions on how to restart the server.

4. Reset the TeamSite server to register the changes made to the TeamSite iw.cfg configuration
file. To do this, run the following command:
iwreset -ui

5. On the MetaTagger server, create a final processor group that invokes
iwmtresolveuid. This step lets users view metadata suggestions generated by MetaTagger
in TeamSite's Tagger GUI. See Appendix A, “Configuration Manager,” in the
MetaTagger User’s Guide for instructions on how to configure a final processor group.

I Am not Clear with STEP 5. Can someone help here

By default, if i remember, after you installed MT you should already have a Final Processor with the iwmtresolveuids configured so you can skip that step.

To validate, open MT ui (http://:/ciadmin)
mt-port is 9080 by default if you did not change it during or after installation.
From there within the Manage Final Processor Group section you should see the iwmtresolveuids processor within the list of "processors in use".

Thats true - I can see "iwmtresolveuids" Processor in use. Do I need to pass any arguments to this ?

How do i verify if the Metatagger is working fine. What am I doing wrong ?

No you don't have to pass any arguments to it.

The fastest way to test if it works is to go within TeamSite, select a dcr and tag it using the File->Tag menu item from CCPRO (there is also a whole set of CLT you can use to test). If you receive an error like "something bad occured please contact your administrator" then there is an error somewhere. If it works, you will see a "re-tag" button next to each field you have configured to be tagged by MT, a "re-tag all" button at the bottom of the Metadata capture form within TeamSite.

- Right now you have the configuration TS-MT (iw.cfg) which seems to be good.
- You have a field named "keywords" within MT.

So what you need to do next if not already done, is to create an item named "keywords" within the TeamSite datacapture.cfg and within MT create a Content processor for "none" file type Group and associate the keywords field to it (can be done through MT admin ui).

PS: Not sure if it's a typo but there is a ` character within the vpath-regex for your news capture rule.

Thanks for the reply. Guess I am almost done with this. I can see the logs created in MT when i click on Tag button

But I was Not able to configure Keywords field using the MT admin UI.

I can see there is a file named "metatagger_studio.cfg", not sure if this help can be of any help. How do you add it thru UI though ?

Can you please briefly guide me the steps to do it

This is documented in the manuals and taught at training. The steps are sometimes confusing, so I highly suggest you get to MT training asap.

There is no way to add a New Field thru the Admin UI. It only allows Edit and Delete( per MT user's guide).

So to add a new field do i have the options of using iwmtbuild utility and MT studio ?

What's easier way to do it ? Can you provide an example ? Right now I just need MT to generate Keywords/metadata based on the DCR content

Using the new ciadmin ui (not the old mtadmin one) you can create your keywords field through the UI using the Keywords link under Manage Fields. There will be a complete wizard to help you step by step. After the field is created you can edit it and modify the rack script to better meet your needs.

If not you can create a file under MT-HOME/conf named keywords.smf.
You will have to do some research here to know what to put exactly within this file as it is different if you have a Summarization based field, taxonomy based field, etc...

Another way to create fields through MT ui (probably not the best one....) is to create a Summarization based field but do not attach it to any content processor. After you edit the field created and remove the rack script, so you have a "free text" field. Like i said this is probably not the best way to create fields....

If you are using a workflow like: Create Content --> Approve --> Submit
you can add a Metadata task between Create Content and Approve. There is exemples under the IW-HOME/local/config/wft how to do this.

Or you could do it directly from the DCT using formAPI and the following url (The dcr must be saved first.):

What i meant is that you can have a "Tag" button on your DCT, when a user fills the DCT, saves it, and clicks on the "Tag" button it will, using formAPI, pop up the Metadata Taggin ui.

If I understand correctly, you would like to create a final processor with the following iwmtresolveuid. After you log on to the Configuration Manager or Admin GUI. Follow the following steps.

1)Click on "Manage Final Processor Group"
You will be directed to a new window.
2)Choose iwmtresolveuid from the drop-down list and click on add.
You will see "iwmtresolveuid" populated in the window that says processors in use.
3)Click on the "DONE" button

And you're done.
