special charecter causing error in DCT

I am using inline script to call a perl to query data from database to populate a select box in DCT.

but sometimes the DCT will hit error (refer to the attached image) when the value contain '&' charecter.

is there any technical paper explain this or have anyone facing the same problem?

anyone know any other special charecter will cause the error?

If you're using Perl - please read the perldoc on HTML::Entities - with an understanding that certain characters are very special for XML and as such need to be "escaped" or "encoded" when placed within an XML file in order to avoid parsing errors (such as you've received).
