hi i want to run Scheduled task 4 example schedule user task,or a scheduled external taskcan someone help me to How to achieve this?thanks
You would have to provide more Scenario details. For example, if it is *one time per workflow* deal you can simply include dummy task with the calculated time-out transition to desired task.If you plan to do it on a regular basis (daily/weekly) you may be better off scheduling the whole new job, not just a task and so on...Also, with the question like that it helps if you provide your platform, TS Version, planned scheduler and the like
Hi Thanks 4 your Reply It gives Me some idea actually i want to use it inside a Workflow how can V do something like "get thefiles and deploy them in to the Web server in a sheduled time" using work flow?
Ok, let's try one more time... You would have to provide more Scenario details. The way you've described it above you do not need a workflow. Prepare Deployment configuration and schedule Open Deploy Run using either OD built-in scheduler or whatever else you prefer. Also, with the question like that it helps if you provide your platform, TS Version, planned scheduler and the like
"Prepare Deployment configuration "Yes exactly thtat what i hope to do i want to invoke it using a work flow, since the scenario is like this"a user asign to check the files and after that selects some files and then he need to deploy them to a server in a user specified time"so in here how do i use workflow to do this can we use external tasks?its in TS 6.7 solaris env
It coul dbe something like:CGITASK >> DUMMYTASK >> EXTERNALTASKWithin CGITASK... the user would select the files need to be deployed along with the time on which s/he intends to do the deployment. It also does the calculation of time format changes for the value to be set for DUMMYTASK to get inactivated. (You have to remove the extra files attached to the job.)Once the time is being set on DUMMYTASK... it on its own activates external task... which deploys the selected files.
Hi .I am using Teamsite 6.5 and open Deploy 6.0.0. I have a similar senario wherein I want the deployment content to web server at a specified time selected by author . Here I need to deploy both files and database changes to target server at a selected time.I am using filelist deployment by workflow to deploy content at publish serverSo in my workflow when approver approves the content ,publishing of these content should occur at selected time. Now here I used the above approach of using dummy task with timeout . but the issue i am facing here is that once the dummy task time finishes, user need to manually go and start the next task. My need is that once the time finishes for dummy task next task should authomatically be executed at the specified task. my task senario is like below.approver task >dummy task > submit task > CGI task (deployment task).I have set immediate equal to true for CGI task and also the owner of all task are same .still the CGI task is not getting executed automatically . If any one have worked on such senario . then could you please let me know the approach you have followed for content publish timing. If you have followed the same approach of dummy task then how can we automate the next task execution.Any thoughts on this would be highly appreciatedRegardsJitendra
