FrontPage 2000 and TeamSite 6.7.1

Hello!

We have a new user who has been using FrontPage to edit .asp and .inc files directly on our D web server.

The files are now in TeamSite 6.7.1 on Windows 2003 EE.

When this user edits a .inc or .asp file, it properly downloads to his local machine and invokes FrontPage. However, FrontPage throws a 'Cannot open file' error.

The user can then browse to the local copy of the file and open it in a different editor, such as NotePad.

Does anyone have any suggestions about FrontPage 2000 settings that might be causing this problem?

Seems to be a known issue... Get to google and paste site:support.microsoft.com FrontPage open file error

Also FrontPage cannot find files when given a pathname longer than 126 characters .(This was a issue and I think it was fixed in one of the Frontpage SP/Patch) . Are your users accessing files that are deep inside a directory structure ?
