Modify links within Standard Interface

Hi,

I'm working on a requirement where once the user clicks on "My Workareas" Portlet in CC Standard we are presented with the view of the workarea with files & folder list. The files list provides hyperlink on the filename and individual "Edit" link on the right corner.

Now my requirement once the user clicks on the "filename" it should bring the "Edit" feature rather than "Preview" feature.

Hope I have made my requirement clear. I have attached a screenshot of the "directory listing" portlet.

Any ideas would be appericated.

Hi,

Can you please explain the reason behind this requirement, as already we have an edit option corresponding to each file /dcr ?
If you want to make an edit instead of preview, then are you willing to lose the option to preview the file/dcr as default which I think can only be available through the File Actions menu?

I don't have any reason behind this requirement. I'm very much happy with the current working of this functionality. This requirement came from an UI specialist. All he is trying to do is cut down most of the OOTB functionality and ease the usability to the end user. Though I already explained that we might lose the preview functionality he is very keen on this requirement. Is it possible to change???

I'd suggest contacting Support to find out if this is, in fact, a supported customization.

I think this might require a significant amount of custom coding to replace the existing portlet used to render the file listings - though it's possible that it might be adjustable through something as simple as a CSS mod (I doubt it, but you never know ...)
